I strongly believe this is the best way to walk on untrotten paths that lead us to a bright future. Neuroscientist Andrew Tate analyses quite well how we (try to) work in "10 Thinghs Highly Creative People Do Differently".
Henry Ford might have said "If I had asked my customers what they wanted, they would have told me a faster horse"... Architects first need to listen to the needs of their clients and society, of course, but then also need to have a vision and good communication and negotiating skills to bring their clients wanting to go further than what they initially thought they needed.
"If only I had a quid for every time I heard a Client say 'this is going to be the greenest development you've ever seen'. better still, if only it were true..."

Atelier EUPALINOS (Organization) and Nicolas GOUBAU (person) are BREEAM Accredited Professional (Organization and Person) since this week. The commitment of a BREEAM Accredited Professional (BREEAM AP) ensures the environmental strategy is being enhanced throughout the Design Brief, Design and Construction project stages and his commitment and involvement may be awarded up to 3 additional BREEAM credits depending on whether the BREEAM AP has already been appointed at Design Brief stage or not and depending on whether or not the initial BREEAM targets as set at Design stage are still achieved at Post Construction Stage.

This drawing flew recently by mail on my desk.

By a poet for sure 😉

The public housing nearly-reconstruction project at Rue De Stassart in Ixelles (Brussels) is near to completion. The building with four very low energy demand dwellings will be handed over next month. A large amount of the used materials are environmental friendly, including labeled natural paintings, woodfiber and cellulose thermal insulation and only FSC-labeled wood. Contracting architect: Atelier GIGOGNE. Atelier EUPALINOS has been part of the design team and completely in charge of the technical specification, Energy Performance, overall environmental strategy and the construction stage.
